BAFCA
can report that from the recent level 1 coaching clinics which formed part of
the Impact and Improvement programme funded by Sport England, the sport has
over 180 additional qualified coaches.
The course gives
an overview on the Coaches responsibilities, Coaching skills, the technical
content of blocking and tackling, and coaching these skills in a safe and
effective manner.
Attendees
ranged from very experienced coaches to complete novices, and the feedback from
all was very positive.
"Just
a quick line to say thanks for Saturdays coaching. It was fun and I
found it very useful" Level 1 candidate
Additionally,
whilst these clinics were occurring, the Coaches' Association coach education
team was working with BAFA's consultants, Press Red and Oaks Consulting, to
finalise the new Level 2 coaching qualification, which we plan to launch in
late spring this year.
These
activities will support the newly developed Flag football and Youth football
strategies, all of which have been funded through the Impact and Improvement
Award.
The next Level 1 courses will be held in Autumn 2010.
