BAFCA provides a Coach Education Programme (CEP) to assist all UK based coaches in developing their knowledge and skills.

Please note: The CEP is currently under review in line with the UK Coaching Certificate standard. This is a lengthy process but in the meantime the qualifications below will still be available.

Level 1 - Assistant Coach

NOTE: This qualification is mandatory before undertaking any coaching within BAFA. Requirements: Candidates must be 18 years of age or above.

Content: This is a one day course that features a mixture of theory and practical work. It is focused on the following aspects:

- Health and safety in football

- Responsibilities of the coach

- Basic teaching and coaching methods

- Blocking and tackling techniques.

This course is suitable for people who have never coached or played the sport. However, a basic understanding of American football is required.

Course cost is £30, payable on the day.


Level 2 - Coming in Spring 2010!

 

Typically, courses are run on Saturdays or Sundays between 9:00am to 5:00pm, but midweek courses are occasionally run split over two evenings. See below for future courses.
